Perceptions of India about psychology (Part 1)
Before then, the perception about psychology and psychologists was limited. The field of psychology is a very vast discipline; it covers various topics regarding mental health.
In India, this subject is now gaining popularity due to the increasing acceptance of the subject, and a psychologist is an unbiased mental health professional who treats the issues faced by an individual without being judgmental towards the individual. Although the individual takes time with the professional to open up and share their feelings during the beginning of the session, today, even in the 21st century, psychology is still struggling to get a respectable position in India. But slowly, people are accepting this subject. People create opinions about psychology and the professional without even taking one session with the psychologist.
It is a simple phenomenon: just as we as individuals go to a doctor for the treatment of any physical or mental condition, we can also consult a psychologist. Psychology also covers human behaviours, and this discipline studies the complexity of behaviour and the mind respectively. In retrospect, people are very opinionated. They form an opinion without knowing this subject at all. But as of now, the paradigm of people has changed a bit.
Disclaimer :- This is just my opinion on psychology I am not forcing my opinion on others
